This is an experiment dealing with physical and chemical properties & changes. We have Lucy (marshmallow on left) & Charlie (marshmallow on right) we recorded their physical properties in their original state, then placed them in the microwave for 1 minute and examined physical & chemical changes that take place.

I liked how when we put them in the microwave they blew up like a balloon. It was really amusing. Ha ha. And the whole room smelled like marshmallows! Yay for marshmallows! :) The marshmallow could fit into the category of a solid and a gas. Solid because it kept it's shape and gas because it got really huge in the microwave like a bubble.
This was a pretty fun day. I really like how we do a lot of labs in this class. I feel like i learn a lot better this way than with just straight up lecture. -Zack

Today students began class with a BrainPop on currents and took the quiz.
Tim and Moby did an excellent job describing how currents affect global
weather ...
If you were absent for the Physical versus Chemical lab, you can make up the majority of it by following the link below and watching YouTube videos of the experiments. You can also just check them out because they are cool.
